About the Fellowship
The Thomas Peterson Fellowship honors Perth Amboy’s own Thomas Peterson, the first African American to vote under the 15th Amendment, and then served on the city’s charter commission. This fellowship is designed to inspire high school and college students to step into civic leadership by leading No-Blame Problem Solving and community know-how. Fellows will gain hands-on experience as members of the Perth Amboy Civic Trust, transforming from spectators into leaders who find successful solutions for their City.
